![]() I haven't had any reason to go near modding the circuit because, well, it sounds excellent!įWIW the Wharfedales were good speakers still. All easy, plug and play stuff to replace. I replaced it with an Accutronics tanks and it's *almost* as lush as my Fender now. The only other thing replaced was the Ruby reverb tank because it dwelled FOREVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVER. Power tubes are brand new JJ's and I have an old GE rectifier. I have a couple of vintage West German Siemens & Halske tubes in V1 and V2, and then a b-code Mullard in V3. I also junked the stock preamp tubes, high gain Shuguangs, for NOS items I had laying around. I upgraded my CC2 with UK made Celestion Blues (the Vox-branded ones use Chinese cones). The AC30CC2X is the one with the Celestion Blues. I bought the AC30CC2 for a blowout at Best Buy (yes, they opened music sections in some stores), which is the model with the Wharfedale Greenback clones. ![]() There's a lot of hate for that AC30, but I think it's a great amp. Hah, thanks! I've been playing pretty much my whole life, so I've had some time to accumulate prized items like that. ![]()
